Probably one of the most non-trivial films I’ve ever seen. However, it was impossible to expect anything ordinary from the author of the “Best Offer”.
It’s even hard to describe. An insanely tragic story that beauty is a curse. All this is wrapped up in a story about growing up, in which the feeling of first falling in love is brought to a surreal and magnificent comedy. Along the way, this is a movie about the war.
In general, it’s hard to even imagine how a comical masturbation scene with panties on your face fits into one movie with such a knifing drama in the finale.
In some places it was shot so beautifully and poetically that Sorrentino would have been jealous. Oh, those Italians. It is immediately obvious: people are brought up on art — a completely different prism of view.
